Celebrating all that makes us unique and different, Skin Again offers new ways to talk about race and identity. Race matters, but only so much - what's most important is who we are on the inside. This award-winning book, with its myriad of faces, varied hues of skin and reckless swirls of hair, introduces a strong message of loving yourself and others.
Bell Hooks is a world-renowned cultural critic, feminist theorist, distinguished author and professor of English. She has written several acclaimed children's books all illustrated by Chris Raschka.
Chris Raschka has worked on more than 50 children’s books. His illustrations use collaged material, bold brush strokes and found pattern to create abstracted images pulsing with movement. His work has been awarded the Caldecott Medal on two separate occasions.
